Customized power supply metal clamp

Description

This is an open-type clamping shaft fixing fixture (also known as a clamping ring / shaft sleeve lock), which is a typical structure used in machinery to clamp the shaft, achieve axial positioning or fixation.

Structure disassembly (by color classification)
Gray main body (clamping sleeve)
A cylindrical sleeve with an axial opening, whose inner wall fits the shaft, and the opening design allows it to be “tightened” to clamp the shaft.
The flange structures at both ends can be used to limit the position of the shaft components or serve as positioning pieces themselves.
Green part (clamping ears / clamps)
Two parallel “ear plates” extending from the opening form the force-bearing area of the clamping.
When the bolt is tightened, these two ear plates will be pulled closer, causing the inner diameter of the entire sleeve to shrink, and the clamping sleeve will clamp the shaft.
Blue part (fastening bolt)
The bolt (with a hexagonal head) passing through the green ear plates is the power source of the entire mechanism.
When tightening the bolt, the ear plates will close together through the screw thread force, achieving the clamping of the sleeve on the shaft; when loosening the bolt, the sleeve will rebound, allowing it to freely slide and adjust its position on the shaft.

Working principle
Its core logic is elastic clamping:
The sleeve itself has elasticity, and the opening provides it with a contraction space;
The bolt provides clamping force, and the force is transmitted to the sleeve through the ear plates, causing the sleeve to undergo a slight elastic deformation, reducing the inner diameter, and generating sufficient friction between the sleeve and the shaft, thus achieving fixation.
This method does not leave dents on the shaft like locking nuts, causes less damage to the shaft, and has uniform and adjustable locking force.

Main features and applications
Easy installation: No need to remove the shaft-end components, simply insert it from the side of the shaft.
Position adjustable: Loosen the bolt to slide and adjust on the shaft, and then lock it after positioning, with high flexibility.
Does not damage the shaft surface: Clamped by the friction force of the entire inner wall, it does not scratch the shaft surface like stop screws.
Typical applications: Often used to fix bearings, sliders, gears on linear optical shafts, or as axial limit retaining rings for shaft components.
